Marcus wrote this to remind himself to go beyond *acceptance* of fate — and move toward *love* of it. This idea, later known as *amor fati*, is the crown jewel of Stoic thought. Whether blessings or blows, the Stoic says: 'This is good, because it is mine to meet.' Marcus found peace not by resisting life, but by befriending it — especially when it did not go as planned.
Do not merely accept fate — embrace it. Every challenge is a hidden ally.
